But maybe that is because id intends it as a weak weapon now. Would be nice to have sound effects more inline with the origonal too, this iteration sounds too flat or insignificant. But it still bothers me that a plasma gun that was very powerdful in previous games is now so weak that it seem worthless in multiplayer and a neglected weapon in the campaign.ĭear id can we maybe bump the damage to 16? At least 14 or 12? Maybe it will be fine when we know how it will fit into the whole of the weapon balance. They could have had nasty burn/inceneration effects, may be melt/burning a hole/s right through demons.
Also it is another missed oppertunity on the gore effects. It's so odd that the Heavy Assualt Rifle is stronger (much more so) than a PLASMA rifle. It is an odd change to make it a weak starter weapon, the same thing you see in many other shooters on consoles a go to or starter alien assualt rifle. I heard it was great in Doom 3 as well but I have not played that game.
This is a bit dissapointing because the plasma rifle was a very powerful weapon in Doom 1 and 2. It seems like it is meant to be for Doom, the heavy machine gun from Quake Live. I noticed in a muliplayer video that the plasma rifle only does 8 damage. Does anyone else think the plasma rifle is too weak?
